KEITH LANNING
(1923-2000)

Keith Lanning, husband of one of our most important family historians, Edith Conant Lanning of Ocala Florida, and a faithful attendant at early Bland reunions, died after a long illness on September 23, 2000. He was 77.  Keith was born in Belvedere Illinois and was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. During his military tours, he was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Edith is the Bland of the family, descending from the line of Thomas Bland of Pendleton County Virginia/West Virginia. Edith has been a long time faithful attendant at our national reunions and has helped in family history matters in many ways, for example indexing Charles L. Bland,  A Vision of Unity. Those of us who attended the reunions from their inception in 1985 came to know and respect Keith with warmth and friendship and surely feel deeply saddened by his death.
