Dorothy “Dot” Bland, 86, of Denver, was a talented artist, known for her generous spirit, irresistible laugh and warm hugs.  She is survived by seven children: Roxanne Taylor, Sharon Morgan, Christine Bland, Joel Bland, Stephan Shawn Bland, Rebecca Blanc, and Cassandra Otte.  Her husband and love of her life, Richard “Dick” Bland, passed away in 2015.  She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  

She was one of six children born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to Hans and Lena Sonne, who were American citizens. When she was thirteen, her mother moved back to the United States with all six children.  She spent the rest of her childhood in South Dakota and moved to Denver with her husband and infant Daughter in 1954, where she spent the remainder of her life.
